It’s Doors Open 2013 weekend here in Toronto! I’ve never gotten the chance to go this event in the past, so I made it my mission to venture downtown this weekend to visit a few historical landmarks. This is a great opportunity for architecture lovers and historians to get a glimpse of an impressive array of buildings located downtown while being educated about its historical significance. I’ll be uploading more pictures throughout the week so stay tuned!
Below are a couple of pictures of the Crystal Ballroom in an old luxury hotel downtown called King Edward. They never received enough funding to completely restore this ballroom and you can definitely see that it’s been through some hard times, but it was still a breathtaking venue. It still hasn’t lost its sense of grandeur.

There was a series of black and white photographs on display that showed the hotel in its former glory.

Decided to grab drinks and dessert after our ramen dinner at Sansotei. We ended up sharing a Decadent Duo Dessert ( Ganache Torte and White Chocolate Cheesecake) Great pairing. The cheesecake was super light while the Ganache Torte was made of rich Belgian chocolate. I’ve been to Milestone’s at different locations before, and I’m pretty sure only this one has creepy plastic dolls in the washroom. It’s so out of place from the rest of the decor, but they made me laugh so I’ve included a picture of that too. Can you spot the naked doll?

My parents went to Niagara Falls over the weekend and my mom won a $100 bucks gambling so she decided to take us out for lunch.
Asian Legend is known for their dumplings (their veggie dumplings are my favourite), but I’m starting to get addicted to their mango fish as well. So good. No complaints about the food but the place was so damn cold! Which sucked because I was still trying to recover from the flu and it made the food get cold fast.
