If you read about my Spring Sushi adventure, you’ll know that I’m not too crazy about AYCE sushi because you get what you pay for and if you’re paying a fixed amount for a boatload of food, well… the results can’t be that great, can it?
Apparently, not true.
I’m so glad my friend talked me into going to Kyoto House! She had been there before, but it was my first time going there. Initially we wanted to eat at Sansotei (one of Toronto’s best ramen places) but it was closed on Sundays.
The waitress gave us a piece of paper to check off the items we wanted to get and the food arrived almost immediately. Watching your table slowly get filled up with plates of food is a magical experience.
Below are some of the things we ordered: seaweed salad (as always), salmon sashimi (very fresh, I was really impressed by the quality of their ingredients), along with a dragon and rainbow roll.
We couldn’t finish everything which was pretty sad because we usually bring our appetite and are game for anything, but luckily they didn’t charge us for wasted food. Would definitely come back again if I was in the mood for sushi! Wouldn’t even lump it together with other AYCE sushi restaurants, just a damn good sushi place.
